the first thing I would probably do is first treat the walls of shipping container so it doesn't rust. There's a chance that concrete can trap moisture and cause the shipping container to rust.

Looking forward to building a 5-container wide, 2-container high home that can be installed on a concrete outer wall. so that I can have a basement under the containers. Or should I go 3 containers high and have just a slab instead... So much to plan before I even look at a container! But, it is all in the planning, isn't it???

Excellent presentation of the engineering problems associated with joining two shipping containers together to make a larger building. I really appreciate your illustrations and demonstrations. The fact that you are upfront about the complex issues involved is a breath of fresh air. The modular / pre-fab building arena is full of charlatans and frauds. You have clearly been doing this for a while, and understand the issues, and are working to solve them in a methodical, practical way. You've earned my subscription. Keep up the good work.

Containers are designed to handle 100s of tons palced on top of them. Concrete isn't going to make them stronger....

I like the premise of using engineered rock under and on the sides to move water. Maybe incorporating rock wall fencing, sorta like a hesco barrier, to the sides would make a more viable option than filling a pit with engineered rock. Really dig that you are getting Ron on board. You guys could colab on an entirely new bunker/ shelter format.

Can you do a double wide like that, and bury it underground as a bunker, with stairs, like Atlas does. Above 6 feet down with the air filter too .

One thing I don't like about this, is that it would make a cool shop or stash area, but not much else. But if you close those doors and they still have the standard handles and latches, well all someone has to do is close it and you aren't getting out. And if you are using it as an emergency bunker, that's far from ideal.

How do you frame it the proper way?

We have a thing here they do in Australia that I should do for a hothouse. It's QUITE common in industrial areas. It's a clear tarp curved roof that spans between 2 containers, made for workplaces. They keep their materials and small equipment in the containers, then park their vehicles underneath the roof strung between the 2. Even seen mobile cranes parked in them.

Steel sheet might not be the best structure to make a home with.
